National Alumni Association Scholarship Programs
The Albany State University National Alumni Association, Inc. (ASUNAA) established the ASUNAA Scholarship Award Program to recognize, encourage and reward undergraduate students who: are in good academic standing at Albany State University (ASU); demonstrate a financial need; have a record of leadership in school and in the community; have the potential to become active alumni who will support ASU and ASUNAA; and contribute to their communities.
The ASUNAA has awarded scholarships to several students since its inception as an Association. In keeping with its tradition of assisting students, the ASUNAA Board of Directors is proud to offer financial assistance for the Spring Semester of the 2024-2025 academic year for students enrolled at ASU. Two (2) scholarships of $1,000 each are available for students to apply. A student is only eligible to receive one scholarship. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, national origin, or any other applicable legally protected status.
Eligibility and Application Requirements
ELIGIBILITY- The Student:
- Was enrolled as a full-time student at ASU during the Fall and Spring Semesters of the 2022-2023 academic school year and Fall Semester of the 2023-2024 academic year.
- Will be enrolled as a full-time student at ASU during the Spring Semester of the 2023-2024 academic school year.
- Has a current cumulative grade point average (GPA)of 2.7 or higher and upon enrollment as a full-time student for the Spring Semester of the 2023-2024 academic school year.
- Can exhibit outstanding leadership abilities through specific activities and events.
- Can demonstrate a financial need.
- Is a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

Students must demonstrate a financial need; have a record of leadership in school and in the community; have the potential to become active alumni who will support Albany State University (ASU) and ASUNAA; and contribute to their communities.
In keeping with its tradition of assisting students, the ASUNAA Board of Directors is proud to offer financial assistance for the Fall Semester of the 2023-2024 academic school year to students enrolled at ASU. The ASUNAA established the NextGen Leadership Scholarship[1] to recognize students that exhibit outstanding leadership at Albany State University (ASU); encourage engagement with the Association; and support the next generation of leaders. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, national origin, or any other applicable legally protected status.
[1] The Next Gen Leadership Scholarship –Preference will be given to a student that is a member of the ASU Pre-Alumni Council, but the Scholarship is open to all ASU students.
Marie H Dixon Scholarship Application Oct 2023
The Albany State University National Alumni Association, Inc. (ASUNAA) established the ASUNAA Scholarship Award Program to recognize, encourage and reward undergraduate students who: are in good academic standing at Albany State University (ASU); demonstrate a financial need; have a record of leadership in school and in the community; have the potential to become active alumni who will support ASU and ASUNAA; and contribute to their communities.
In keeping with its tradition of assisting students, the ASUNAA Board of Directors is proud to offer financial assistance for the Fall Semester of the 2023-2024 academic school year to students enrolled at ASU. The ASUNAA established the Marie H. Dixon Scholarship to perpetuate the memory of ASU Alumni Ms. Marie H. Dixon. Ms. Dixon personified the mission of the Association. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, national origin, or any other applicable legally protected status.
Scholarship Committee Members
This Committee is responsible for the identification and selection on an annual basis of a worthy student(s) to receive financial assistance from the Association through its scholarship programs (Marie H. Dixon Scholarship and Next Gen Leadership Scholarship}. The amount of scholarship to be awarded will be in accordance with established Board policy. Recommendations made are subject to Board and Association approval.
